Makinde Seeks UN Probe In Oyo Kidnap + Diezani Verdict Debate + Oshiomhole Hits NNPC|Ojy Okpe

Governor Seyi Makinde is calling on the United Nations and international human rights bodies to probe the Oriire school abductions, saying the incident warrants scrutiny beyond Nigeria's domestic institutions.

Kidnapped Oyo headmaster Matthew Owoade has regained his freedom after 48 hours in captivity, though conflicting reports dispute whether police pressure or a ₦5 million ransom secured his release.

In another development, Osun Governor Ademola Adeleke has urged the UK to impose visa bans and sanctions on opposition leaders he accuses of fuelling political violence, amid reports of fresh killings linked to the 2026 election season.

Meanwhile, the Governor Adeleke addressed a congregation on Sunday, declaring that he'll be singing "hallelujah" on August 15 while breaking out into one of his signature dance moves.

In another development, the DG of the Fake agency Adeniyi Adeyemi has sparked outrage after he claimed on live television that he borrowed ₦400 million allegedly paid to secure his appointment as head of the Presidential Foreign Intervention Promotion Council.

The National Commission for Almajiri and Out-of-School Children Education is facing scrutiny after its 2026 budget allocated billions of naira to roads, streetlights, ambulances and medical equipment instead of projects directly tied to educating out-of-school children.

Critics say the spending falls outside the commission's mandate and undermines accountability while diverting resources from tackling Nigeria's education crisis.
