Several students were hospitalised after tear gas was fired by bouncers during a Children’s Day event at Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium triggered panic.
Nigerians are criticising the Ministry of Education for waiting 13 days before issuing a statement on the mass abductions of students in Oyo and Borno States.
It comes as people online have resurfaced the clip of Nigeria's former First Lady Patience Jonathan who went viral in 2014 for crying publicly after the abduction of the Chibok school girls.
Seyi Makinde accused the federal government of misleading Nigerians over plans for state police, saying the South-West created Amotekun as a regional security alternative when state policing failed to materialise.
