World Cup Preview: Uruguay's Last Dance
Uruguay has returned to the forefront of the footballing world over the last few World Cup cycles. That glorious generation is aging though, and this is definitely their last chance to grab World Cup glory before father time kicks them off the field. Luis Suarez, Edinson Cavani, and Diego Godin are surely at their last World Cup this time around, what are the lasting memories we will have of the World Cup’s first ever winner.
There is also a new generation coming through. While it may not be quite as potent, it still has quality in the likes of Federico Valverde, who has a chance to impress on the World Cup stage after just missing the World Cup squad four years ago in the final round of cuts. Now he as at Real Madrid and the great hope for Uruguay’s future that could start right now.
