Mixed reactions trailed the arrival of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and First Lady Oluremi Tinubu in London for their historic, two-day state visit with King Charles III and Queen Camilla, with a large delegation of Nigerian governors, senators and ministers receiving the President and sparking debate about optics and priorities.

In a similar vein, members of the Nigerian diaspora were seen in a trending video singing President Bola Tinubu’s campaign tune “On Your Mandate”.

Meanwhile, Inspector General of Police Tunji Disu was in Borno State, assessing the aftermath of recent IED attacks that killed 23 people and injured hundreds more.

Elsewhere, concern is rising over reports of illegal and unregulated mining in Ilesha, Osun State, with viral videos allegedly showing a large-scale private operation.

A similar trend is emerging in Jos, Plateau State, where residents are reportedly digging within their compounds in search of minerals, raising safety and regulatory concerns.
