China, South Africa discuss ways to expand trade and investment relations

South Africa is lobbying China to open electric vehicle manufacturing plants in the country, to help boost exports.
That's the word from Trade and Industry Minister, Ebrahim Patel, who has hosted his Chinese counterpart, Wang Wentao, in Pretoria.
The South Africa-China Joint Economic and Trade Committee is also discussing ways to expand trade relations between the two countries, together with investment opportunities.
