Operations at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport have been disrupted after members of the Kenya Aviation Workers Union commenced a strike, following the lapse of a seven-day strike notice. Workers downed their tools this morning despite attempts by the Kenya Civil Aviation Authority to halt the industrial action through the labour court. The union maintains that negotiations over a long-pending Collective Bargaining Agreement have stalled, leaving little room for further engagement.
