2024 Elections | DA's Steenhuisen unpacks post manifesto 'rescue plan' for South Afri
As we continue with unpacking manifestos of the five biggest parties in parliament, today Morning Live is talking to the Democratic Alliance which was the second party to launch its manifesto on the 17th of February at the Union Buildings, in Pretoria. The DA's manifesto which the party refers to as a rescue plan for South Africa is mainly hinged on seven pillars.
This morning, DA leader John Steenhuisen joins us in the studio to unpack some of those pillars, with time allowing. These include dealing with unemployment, crime-corruption-lawlessness, the education system and poverty and inequality among the seven pillars. Today, Steenhuisen will shed more light on how, for instance, would the party reduce or eradicate inequality, given that the IMF says SA is the most unequal society in the world. We hope to hear from him how the party will shake off the stigma that the party presides over the best well best run municipalities in the country, particularly in the WC, but the poor in the townships live in poverty in those municipalities, telling a different story.
